The Book Mark

Books that make the grade.

Dear Santa, here’s my book list !

I’ve made my list and checked it twice and now I’ll share my Wish List with you.

I am Wishing for some of the following titles to kick start 2015:

The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion can’t be here quick enough. The sequel to The Rosie Project promises to be special as Don and Rosie continue their story as a married couple.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty is one that I didn’t get to read yet but I sure plan on soon. Moriarty follows three women, each with their own saga as a murder is solved. This is the winning format she followed with The Husband’s Secret. I think it might work well here too.

Lila by Marilynne Robinson – from the award-winning author of Gilead comes a new story about Lila a woman who becomes a minister’s wife in a small Iowa town. It reshapes her life but how?

One of my all time favorite books is A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley. She returns with Some Luck a novel that follows a family through the generations. This has gotten some mixed reviews but piqued my curiosity.

The following books are currently on my Kindle and I’m wishing for the time to read them so I am adding them here:

The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters has gotten a lot of attention this year including mine. A mother and daughter run a boarding house and as the title hints at details of the guests unfold to create a suspenseful story…. or so I hope.

We Are Not Ourselves by Matthew Thomas is a story of Irish immigrants and the generations that follow. I love stories that are multi-generational. I’ve actually started this one and so far…very good.

This is just my wish list. I am sure that you have one of your own. Perhaps there are some here you’d like to add or maybe you see something that would be nice to gift to another wishful reader. Either way, may all your wishes come true. See you in 2015 bell
